IT'S SHOWTIME...GO MISS JESS!!!

Miss Elise and I headed out early last Saturday morning to the IA State Fair. It was Elise's first visit to the IA State Fair.

My cousin & Elise's godmother Jess was showing 2 of her heifers in the IA State Fair. For those of you that don't know what a heifer is it's a calf that has not started producing milk. Jess helps her family milk about 80 head of holsteins. We met Miss Jess in the cattle barn then headed to the livestock building to wait for Miss Jess' cattle class to be called into the ring. Luckily, she was the 2nd class showing that day. There were a total of 37 hiefers in her class and when it was all said and done, Miss Jess and her heifer placed 15th!

Elise and I were proud of Miss Jess and her effort. This was the first time Elise got to see Jess show her heifers.
